This ensuite was a complete refurbishment with the old tiles being removed and the old shower and tray removed also. The shower tray wasn’t the full width of the room so a stud wall was built to accomodate pipe work and the new shower tray. We then tiled the walls and floor and fitted the sanitary ware.

For this job we completed the tiling of the complete ground floor of a 2 storey new build, which included the conservatory, living room, kitchen, halls, bathroom, right from the front door to the garage. All of the floors had underfloor heating which lent itself very well to a tiled floor. We also tiled the walls and floor of the upstairs main bathroom and the master bedroom ensuite.

At the customers request we used a wide-joint format on this job. This gives the “old fashioned” appearance to the finished job. The tiling was also completed in a brick pattern in order to give the floor a little character. We finished it off with a skirting tile cut from the same tile with our own water saw to give a clean-cut edge.

As each room to be tiled differs in dimensions planning and designing a bepoke design takes time to layout properly, but pays dividends when the compeleted job is seen. This design was set out to include an inner border of triangles surrounding plain, large-format tiles (600mm x 600mm). The doorstep was again a bespoke design incorporating a design in the centre of the top step with the step edges highlighted by a row of black tiles.

When we started this job, this room was a double garage, both garage doors were removed and built up to sill height and 2 new windows were fitted to the front of the room. On the side of the room, two windows were cut out and a brick fireplace was built between the windows to accomodate a wood burning stove. The back wall of the room was almost completely removed and patio doors with side windows were installed to allow maximum light to enter the room. The floor was raised to the same level as the rest of the house and the floor was then tiled. Only at this point did we break through into the house via a set of wooden double doors, this was left to the end to minimise dust and distruption to the rest of the house.

A new shower was fitted after which an under tile heating mat was placed and both the walls and floor were tiled with a border, following our pre-approved bespoke design. At this point we put a new PVC ceiling in the bathroom with downlighting LED spotlights.

This customer requested a complete roofspace conversion in this house. The roofspace was completely insulated, floored and divided into 2 bedrooms, study, bathroom and a snooker room. We then fitted velux windows into the roof of three of the rooms and a normal window cut into the gabel wall in the snooker room. The divisions were then insulated, plasterboarded and finished to the highest standard.
